Edo Guber: PDP Senator Dumps Party For APC

Ahead of the Edo State governorship election scheduled for September 21, Francis Alimikhena, a former senator from Edo North, has switched allegiance from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This shift was confirmed by APC leader Zibiri Muhammed from Etsako West Local Government Area.

Muhammed disclosed that Alimikhena would be officially welcomed into the APC during the party’s grand finale rally at the UNIBEN sports complex, where he will be introduced by the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Alimikhena, who previously served two terms in the Senate as an APC member, had defected to the PDP after losing the APC ticket to Senator Adams Oshiomhole in the 2023 primaries.

Despite his efforts in the PDP, he lost in the subsequent National Assembly election to Oshiomhole.
