The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has suspended Ahmed Musa Momoh, the Executive Director of the state’s Flood, Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (FEWMA).
The decision, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement issued by Fred Itua, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary.
The reason for the suspension was not disclosed. Momoh has been directed to hand over all government assets in his possession to the agency’s most senior public servant and begin a leave of absence immediately, The Whistler reports
Further instructions are expected from the governor.
FEWMA was initially set up to address erosion and flood challenges under the World Bank-supported Edo NEWMAP initiative, launched during the tenure of the former governor, Godwin Obaseki.
