During initiation, Ogun police arrest cultists, victim rescued

 

Three suspected members of the Eiye cult confraternity have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.

The suspects were apprehended during an initiation ceremony at Malaka Quarters in Owode Egba, located in the Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun State.

During the operation, one victim was rescued.

The suspects, identified as Olayiwola Akinsanya, Keji Sodipo, and Oluwaseyi Olabamiji, were arrested following a report to the police, who promptly acted to detain them.

According to a police source familiar with the incident but not authorized to speak publicly, the victim, Joshua Obiladem, was about to be initiated when he was rescued.

A knife and charms were recovered from the suspects at the time of their arrest, and they are currently in police custody.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the event and said an investigation had begun and the remaining members of the cult group would be brought to book.
