Delta Community in shock as four children disappear

The Ogwashi-Uku community in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State has been thrown into fear and confusion following the abduction of four children over the weekend.

The missing children — Ebube and Miracle (siblings), along with Chimanda and Excel — were reportedly taken from the Umuokwe area of the town under suspicious circumstances.

Local sources allege that three women, who recently moved into a rented room in the neighborhood, are responsible for the abduction. The women allegedly enticed the children by offering to buy them biscuits.

Alarm was raised when the children were not seen for hours. Neighbors who went to check on the new tenants discovered the room was empty, with no trace of the women or the children.

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the incident.

According to the command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, the suspects disappeared just a few days after moving into the apartment.

“It’s true the children were taken. The troubling part is that there are no details on the women—no names, phone contacts, or lease agreement. They just came, rented a room, and vanished after three days,” Edafe said.

He added that the landlady who provided the accommodation without proper documentation has been arrested, as her actions appear questionable.

The police have launched an investigation and are working to locate the missing children and bring those responsible to justice.
