A former Bayelsa State senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, has said that popular Afrobeats musician, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has what it takes to become the governor of Osun State in the future.
He made this known while speaking on a recent episode of his Common Sense series.
According to him, Davido’s strong connection to politics, combined with his family background and wide influence, makes it possible for the singer to succeed in politics if he decides to contest.
He pointed out that the Adeleke family has a long political history in Osun State, with Davido’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, currently serving as governor, and another relative, Isiaka Adeleke, having served in the same position in the past.
Murray-Bruce described Davido as more than just an entertainer. He said the singer has deep political beliefs and already shows signs of interest in leadership.
He believes that Davido’s popularity and ability to connect with people from all walks of life could work in his favour if he joins the political race.
He also shared his view that more Nigerian entertainers should step into politics.
He said they could bring new ideas and energy into leadership.
Referring to Davido specifically, Murray-Bruce expressed confidence that if the singer ever contests for the governorship seat in Osun, he would likely win.
