Court remands 2 herbalists, 1 other for alleged murder

A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Friday remanded two herbalists and one other man at the Abolongo correctional facility for alleged murder of a woman, identified as Mudijat.

The two herbalists are: Ismail Wasiu, 29, and Shittu Mutairu, 35, while the other defendant is Kareem Rafiu, a. k. a. Omo Odo Agba, 26.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the trio of Wasiu, Mutairu and Rafiu are being tried on a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder.

The Magistrate, Mrs Munirat Giwa-Babalola who did not take the plea of the defendants due to lack of jurisdiction, ordered their remand at Abolongo correctional facility, Oyo Town.

Giwa-Babalola said the defendants would be remanded, pending the outcome of sending the case file to the Oyo State Ministry of Justice
