The Nigeria National Coalition Group has submitted a formal request to the Independent National Electoral Commission to register a new political party named the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).
The request, dated June 19, 2025, was officially received by INEC on June 20.
The move is part of preparations for the 2027 general elections, as the coalition aims to present a fresh platform that could challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The application included key details such as the party’s name, acronym, slogan, logo, manifesto, constitution, and guiding ideology.
The slogan of the new party is “Justice for All.”
The letter sent to INEC was signed by Chief Akin A. Rickets, who currently serves as the Protem National Chairman of the group.
The submission also included the proposed party’s flag, meeting minutes, and documents explaining the party’s symbolism, structure, and operational framework.
These materials are said to align with the Nigerian Constitution and the Electoral Act of 2022.
The party’s national headquarters was indicated at the bottom of the association’s official letterhead, although the exact address was not made public in the report.
This development is said to be backed by several prominent political figures who are part of an opposition alliance seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu.
Some of the notable names involved include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former governors Rotimi Amaechi and Nasir El-Rufai, and political activist Dr. Umar Ardo.
Their decision to establish a new party instead of relying on existing political platforms was reportedly based on the outcome of a committee chaired by Amaechi.
The group believes that launching a new party will provide a stronger foundation to pursue their political goals in 2027.
