Nigerian music label Chocolate City Music has accused popular rapper Odumodublvck (real name Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu) of assault, harassment, and repeated threats against its staff and artists, alleging a year-long pattern of violent conduct that recently escalated backstage at a major Lagos concert.
In a statement released late Tuesday, the label said the latest incident occurred in the early hours of December 22, 2025, at the Rhythm Unplugged Concert, one of Nigeria’s largest annual music events.
According to Chocolate City, Odumodublvck allegedly assaulted Feyi Ajayi, a staff member of the company, in the backstage area of the venue. The label claimed that eyewitnesses saw the rapper approach Ajayi, issue threats directed at Chocolate City and its leadership, and then headbutt him without provocation.
“According to eyewitnesses, Tochukwu made threatening statements about Chocolate City before physically assaulting our staff member,” the company said.
Chocolate City further alleged that when a bodyguard attempted to intervene, Odumodublvck and his associates poured drinks on Ajayi while hurling insults at company executives. The label said Ajayi sustained injuries that required immediate medical attention and is currently receiving treatment.
The company described the alleged assault as part of a broader pattern of intimidation and violence dating back to December 2024, which it said began as a lyrical rivalry but later escalated into physical confrontations.
Among the incidents listed by the label are claims that Odumodublvck assaulted Chocolate City artist Blaqbonez at Landmark Beach in December 2024, followed him to a hotel in Uyo in March 2025 where he allegedly threatened him, and later attempted to attack him at a fashion show in the United Kingdom in September 2025. The label also accused the rapper of cyberbullying and issuing threats against company executives and their families.
“Rap beefs are part of hip-hop culture. Physical violence, stalking, threats with weapons, and intimidation are not,” Chocolate City said, warning that continued escalation could result in serious harm.
The label confirmed that it has reported the matter to law enforcement, adding that the safety of its staff and artists remains its top priority. It also urged concert promoters and industry stakeholders to strengthen security at events to protect performers and crew members.
As of the time of filing this report, Odumodublvck has not publicly responded to the allegations, and authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding any investigation.
