Chaos as Soldier Stabs Trader To Death in Akure

By Miracle Ogunde

Akure, the Ondo State capital was thrown into chaos on Saturday as a military officer allegedly stabbed a trader to death.

According to the traders who spoke to newsmen, an altercation led to the death of the trader after being stabbed by one of the soldiers.

The traders explained that trouble started when a soldier had an argument with the deceased trader after requesting for a refund of the service he paid for.

This, however, led to the soldier mobilizing his colleagues to forcefully get a refund from the deceased and in the process beating the trader and his family members into coma before stabbing him to death.

The situation led to protest as the irate traders barricaded the Arakale road, preventing movement of vehicles and road users from plying the road.
