Celtic, the Scottish Premiership champions, have confirmed that seven promising youngsters, including talented midfielder of Nigerian descent Emmanuel Obidiwe, have signed their first professional contracts with the club, as announced on their official website.
Joining Obidiwe in penning new deals are Hassan Dembele, Nathan Meechan, Joseph Haney, Rocco Di Giacomo, Lucas Clearie, and Kayden Daly.
Obidiwe earned his contract through exceptional performances in Celtic’s youth teams.
Last season, he played above his age group, making a substitute appearance in the Glasgow Cup final, where Celtic B narrowly lost to Rangers on penalties in April.
The same month, he came off the bench to score a crucial equalizer in a 1–1 Lowland League draw against Broxburn Athletic.
Internationally, Obidiwe made his mark with Scotland’s U16 squad during the UEFA Youth Development Tournament in February.
He scored on his debut, helping Scotland U16s secure a 3–1 comeback win against Cyprus in their opening match.
A fan of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Obidiwe follows star striker Victor Osimhen on social media, showing his connection to the three-time African champions.
