This includes the involvement of elected lawmakers and influential members of the Obidient Movement. In a statement issued by LP National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, and Chairman of LP governorship primaries in Ondo, Olusola Ayodele, the party emphasized its readiness to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress in the November 16 governorship election. Their candidate, Dr. Ayodele Olorunfemi, was chosen unopposed in the primaries held on April 27.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has warned Nigerians against buying and using pre-registered Sim cards. The Commission in a warning alert posted on its verified X platform handle said that buying and using pre-registered Sim cards was a criminal act and could attract severe consequences including imprisonment. The Oyo State government has announced the recruitment of 7,000 teachers for primary schools. It also announced the recruitment of 100 caregivers for special schools in the state. The Federal Government says the student loan scheme would be rolled out in phases, beginning with the federal institutions. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved part payment of all power sector debts, estimated at N3.3 trillion.
