Breaking: Tinubu presides over FEC meeting in Aso Villa

President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at presidential villa in Abuja.

Apart from the ministers, in the meeting are Vice President Kashim Shettima; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu; and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, are attending the meeting.

The last meeting of the council had directed the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, to propose additional measures for the 2024 budget to address the financial gaps that will arise from the implementation of the new minimum wage once it is finalised.

The council may receive an update on that as well as on its directive for the distribution of the 740 trucks of rice to the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Details to come later…
