Breaking: Thirdforce emerges as Ondo Deputy Gov joins ZLP

Ondo State deputy governor and a governorship aspirant in the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election in Ondo State, Hon. Agboola Ajayi has perfected plans to join the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) ahead of the governorship election on October 10, 2020.

One of the political aides of Ajayi who spoke under the condition of anonymity confirmed the development to Starnews NG on Wednesday.

The source said Ajayi has settled for the ZLP to run against his boss, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and the PDP’s candidate, Eyitayo Jegede after completing all the necessary consultations with all the concerned parties.

Starnews NG had reported last week that massive defection looms in the Ondo State PDP following the recently conducted Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Primary election.

Starnews NG reported that the fall out of the primary has exposed the party to the danger of losing the coming governorship election to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.

Ajayi will officially declare for the ZLP next week according to the source.

Starnews NG gathered that some State Governors across the ruling APC and the opposition PDP with some PDP leaders in Ondo State, are strongly behind Ajayi in his third force agenda.
