BREAKING: Popular Traditional Ruler shot after Unknown Gunmen attack Convoy [PIC]

The Attah and Paramount Ruler of Aiyede Kingdom, Ekiti State, South West Nigeria, His Royal Majesty Oba Alhaji AbdulMumini Adebayo Orishagbemi, narrowly escaped death after unknown gunmen attacked his Convoy on Sunday night at about 9:30 pm.

The Traditional ruler, whose security guards provided by Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were withdrawn recently, was returning to Ijero Ekiti when he got accosted by the gunmen at a spot between Isan and Iludun, in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of the state.

The gunmen opened fire on the SUV car during which one of the bullets penetrated from the owner side of the vehicle and hit the monarch on his left leg.

He was rushed to a specialist hospital in Oye, Oye Ekiti Local Government and is now responding to treatment.

POLITICS NIGERIA learnt that no other member of his entourage was injured.
