Ibadan, Oyo State – In a landmark move aimed at restoring unity, discipline, and focus ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled several high-profile members during its ongoing 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The expelled members include prominent figures such as former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), former Governor Ayo Fayose, Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, and others.
Others listed for expulsion include the PDP National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature; former Vice Chairman, South-South, Dan Orbih; South-South Zonal Secretary, George Turner; North Central Vice Chairman and factional Acting National Chairman of the party, Abdulrahman Mohammed; former presidential aspirant and factional Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa; and Abia PDP Chairman, Abraham Ammah.
This decisive action was ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates, signalling the party’s firm commitment to eradicating internal divisions and curbing anti-party conduct that have hindered its progress.
The expulsion reflects the PDP’s resolve to present a united front as it prepares for the upcoming elections, seeking to reaffirm its relevance in Nigerian politics.
