The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, has expelled several prominent members, including Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), former Governor Ayo Fayose, and Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, over alleged anti-party activities.
Others listed for expulsion include the PDP National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature; former Vice Chairman, South-South, Dan Orbih; South-South Zonal Secretary, George Turner; North Central Vice Chairman and factional Acting National Chairman of the party, Abdulrahman Mohammed; former presidential aspirant and factional Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa; and Abia PDP Chairman, Abraham Ammah.
The expulsion, taken as part of what party leaders described as a decisive step to restore unity, discipline and focus ahead of the 2027 general elections, was ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates at the convention.
Party officials noted that the action was aimed at addressing internal divisions and curbing conduct that had undermined the PDP’s progress in recent years.
