BREAKING: Panic In Daura as protesters storm Buhari’s residence, Emir’s palace

On Thursday, a large group of protesters gathered outside the residence of former President Muhammadu Buhari in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State. The demonstration was part of the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest.

The protest turned violent in several states, resulting in fatalities and prompting curfews in at least three states. The protesters, expressing their frustration with the country’s economic situation, tried to enter Buhari’s residence, setting up bonfires and chanting loudly. They used the Hausa phrase “Bama yi! Bama yi! Bama yi!”—which translates to “we don’t want”—to signal their discontent.

According to a witness, an unidentified person from Buhari’s residence came out to address the protesters. This individual suggested that the crowd select a representative to voice their concerns, which would be recorded and presented to the former president.

After this intervention, the protesters moved towards the palace of the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar Farouk. Security forces shot one protester in the leg while trying to disperse the crowd, but the demonstration continued.

A local resident, who chose to remain anonymous, reported that while they were organizing a student event, they learned that the protesters had also targeted the residences of Buhari, the Emir, and Magajin Garin Daura.

That’s good for the former president; he lead the most corrupt government in the history of Nigeria. He headed a kleptocratic government with looting and embezzlement all over the place. He solidly laid the foundation of all the problems the country is facing now.

It’s a good thing for visiting Buhari in Daura because Nigeria economy was bad during his own government
