Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has been impeached by 32 members of the Assembly.
According to Afripost, the impeachment comes amidst serious allegations of corruption and financial mismanagement against Obasa. He was accused of gross misconduct and abuse of office.
One of the key accusations includes the spending of N17 billion on a gate to the Assembly complex, a move criticized as excessive and fraudulent. Further allegations include the mishandling of constituency funds and projects.
