The Court of Appeal in Abuja has dismissed the petition filed by Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the recent Edo State governorship election.
A three-member panel of justices ruled against Ighodalo’s appeal, which challenged the declaration of Monday Okpebholo as the winner of the election.
While the court did not immediately release the full details of the judgment, the decision effectively upholds Okpebholo’s victory.
Ighodalo had sought to overturn the result of the election, citing alleged irregularities. However, the appellate court found no merit in his arguments.
More details on the ruling are expected to be released soon.
