Breaking: APC group with over 1,500 members join PDP in Ondo

  • More than 10,000 members of APC expected soon, says Senator Tofowomo

Ajani Soldiarity Forum, a group loyal to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) with over 1,500 members across the political wards of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Sunday, joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The group was led by their Chairman and Women Leader, Mr Oladiran Suleiman and Alhaja Taiwo Folorunsho with other executive members.

The chairman, Oladiran, who spoke on behalf of the group, said they decided to disown the ruling APC in the state for failing to fulfill most of its electoral promises after three years of their administration in Ondo State.

The leadership of the group was received by Senator Nicholas Tofowomo and Engr Rapheal Ademulegun at Ileoluji, headquarters of Ileoluji/Okeigbo Local Government of Ondo State.

Ondo South Senator, Tofowomo, who spoke on behalf of the PDP while receiving the defectors, said more than 10,000 members of the ruling APC in Ondo South would soon be received into the opposition PDP, ahead of the governorship election in Ondo State.

He however said the date for the official declaration of the group with all their members in attendance will be communicated to the leadership of the party at a date to be announced later.
