Angry mobs in Okitipupa town, headquarters of Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State have allegedly set the Okitipupa Divisional Police Station and Okitipupa Local Government Secretariat on fire, Starnews Nigeria can report

A witness told Starnews Nigeria that trouble started after the police attempted to force the angry protesters to obey the declaration of curfew by the Ondo State Government.

Starnews Nigeria gathered that the altercation between the Police and the angry mobs led to the burning of the police station on Thursday, while they went to attack the Correctional Service (former Nigerian Prison) in the town and released all the prisoners therein and left the staff untouched.

Starnews Nigeria learnt that the angry mobs were said to have returned to the local government secretariat and set it ablaze.

Over 200 seized motorcycles and valuable properties at the Police Station were reportedly released to the public, Starnews Nigeria reports.

EndSARS protests in different parts of the country including Okitipupa town, Ondo town and Akure City in Ondo State have resulted into the wanton destruction of valuable properties by unknown hoodlums suspected to have high jacked the struggle against police brutality.
