Bomb Explosion Rocks Borno

By Our Correspondent

An explosion involving an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) occurred in a housing estate under construction in Dalwa, Borno State, resulting in the deaths of two people.

The incident happened on Wednesday at around 1 pm, coinciding with the commissioning of housing projects in Maiduguri by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum and his Yobe counterpart, Mai Mala Buni.

Dalwa, located 175 kilometers from Maiduguri, has previously faced destruction and displacement due to Boko Haram insurgents.

Efforts to rebuild the area included the construction of 200 housing units.

A similar explosion was reported in the area a day earlier, though details remain unclear. Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
