The Bring Back Our Light (BBOL) group, a leading association that championed the restoration of electricity to Ondo South after years of protracted blackout, has showered encomiums on its Convener, Pastor Akinrinlola Olumide, as he marks his birthday today.

In a goodwill message personally signed by the Secretary of the association, Comrade Dare Omopariola, the group extolled the leadership qualities of Pastor Akinrinlola, describing him as a relentless freedom fighter whose efforts towards ending the electricity crisis in the region remain unmatched.

“On behalf of Bring Back Our Light—BBOL, an association that brought Ondo South out of protracted darkness, I, Comrade Dare Omopariola, celebrate our Convener, Pastor Akinrinlola Olumide, on the occasion of his birthday,” the statement read.

The association further acknowledged the pivotal role played by Pastor Akinrinlola in mobilising communities, engaging stakeholders, and drawing national attention to the plight of residents affected by the blackout.

“We are proud of you, and your unprecedented struggle is forever indelible. May the Lord grant you long life and prosperity. From all of us, we wish you a very happy birthday, Pastor,” Omopariola added.

The BBOL movement gained widespread recognition for its consistent advocacy, protests, and engagements, which eventually led to the reconnection of power to several communities in Ondo South, restoring hope and economic activities in the region.
