Bandits Kidnap Monarch’s Wife, 14 Others, Kill Policeman In Zamfara

 

In an assault by armed bandits on the Ruwandoruwa hamlet in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, a mobile police officer affiliated with the Maru Police Division was slain.

In addition, fifteen people were kidnapped by the bandits, among them the community’s monarch’s wife.

The attack reportedly occurred early on Monday, at 12:30 am.

After storming the neighbourhood, the attackers opened fire without warning, killing the mobile policeman who was shot dead in front of the district head’s home while he was trying to defend it.

His wife was taken after an unsuccessful effort to kidnap the district head, who was reported missing.

As for the kidnapped people, the bandits had not yet been in touch with the community to demand a ransom.

As of the time of publication, the Zamfara State Police Command has not yet responded to the event.
