Traditional rulers under the Conference of Baales and Olojas have urged the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, OSOPADEC, to strengthen community-centred initiatives as they paid a courtesy visit to the Commission’s Chairman, Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye.
Led by their General Chairman, Chief Adebowale Bamigbose JP, the council congratulated Poroye on his appointment and challenged him to leave a legacy that would outlive his tenure, noting that “a good name is better than silver and gold.”
They also pressed for improved welfare for Baales and Olojas across the mandate areas.
Responding, Poroye described the demands and guidance offered by the traditional leaders as “useful counsel of wisdom,” stressing that their contributions remain vital to OSOPADEC’s stability and development goals.
He said their advice would continue to influence the Commission’s decisions, adding that public perception is essential to its work.
He further referenced the Bible, saying “let your moderation be known unto all men,” as he prayed for divine help to deliver his plans for the oil-producing region.
Present at the meeting were the Executive Director, Finance, Malam Mallon Ogbaro; the Director of Administration and Supplies, Ap. Sola Orisamoluwa; the Director of Community Welfare, Comr. Kayode Ebiseni; aides to the Chairman; and other senior management staff.
