Atiku’s Running Mate, Okowa Dumps PDP For APC

Former Delta State Governor and 2023 vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, made a major political move by joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement came during a large stakeholders’ gathering held at the Government House in Asaba.

Okowa, who was Atiku Abubakar’s running mate during the last presidential election, decided to leave the PDP following a series of internal discussions and alignments with APC leaders.

His defection comes at a time when the political atmosphere in Delta State appears to be shifting, with several key figures considering new directions ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Okowa spoke in his native language, telling his supporters that the move was made after careful thought.

He told them he would always choose what he believed was best for their future and urged them to stay hopeful.
