At Akeredolu’s posthumous birthday, Aiyedatiwa pays glowing tribute to late boss

Friends of Aketi, on Friday, celebrated the first posthumous birthday of the late Ondo state governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, at Jogor center in Ibadan.

“He was a true patriot who sought justice for the weakest”, Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, penned a glowing tribute to late Akeredolu, his predecessor.

Read by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, the governor described late Akeredolu as a dogged fighter and a man of conviction.

He said, “Our late boss, your friend, was a courageous and forthright leader who spoke truth to power at critical times in Nigeria even to his own detriment.

“He was never afraid to say his mind on critical national issues”

The governor further acknowledged his invaluable collaboration with other southwest governors to create the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed ‘Amotekun Corps’

“As a matter of fact, it is not an overstatement to say the positive contributions and impact of Amotekun corps have led to the reduction of criminality in the southwest” the governor stressed.

He thanked friends and associates of late Akeredolu for celebrating him “even in death”, saying the late governor will be missed greatly.
