Army Announces Shooting Exercise in Akwa Ibom, Residents Urged to Stay Away

The Nigerian Army has announced its plans to conduct a shooting exercise in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The exercise will take place from Wednesday, March 19 to Friday, March 28, 2025. According to Lieutenant Adebowale Adejimi, the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the exercise is part of the first quarter range classification for the year.

Residents living near the exercise area are advised to stay clear of designated zones during this period. The army also reassured the public that while gunshots may be heard, there is no need for alarm, as proper safety measures have been put in place to ensure their protection.

The exercise will occur at the 6 Bn Range Area in Abak, and authorities have urged the people of Abak LGA to cooperate by keeping away from the location to avoid any risks.
