Appeal Court Confirms Oba Olaoye as Soun of Ogbomoso

The Court of Appeal in Ibadan has confirmed Oba Ghandi Olaoye as the rightful Soun of Ogbomoso.

This decision overturns an earlier ruling that had nullified his appointment.

On Tuesday, a three-member panel led by Justice Yargata Nimpar ruled in favor of Oba Olaoye on all 10 grounds of appeal.

The case had originated from a ruling by the Oyo State High Court in Ogbomoso on October 25, 2023, which had declared his selection invalid due to alleged irregularities.

With this latest judgment, the appellate court has set aside the previous decision, affirming Oba Olaoye’s legitimacy as the traditional ruler of Ogbomoso.
