The Ondo State chapter of the Amotekun Corps has sent out 600 officers to all parts of the state to ensure that the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations take place peacefully.
This decision was made to keep residents safe before, during, and after the festive period.
The commander of the corps, Adetunji Adeleye, made this known in a message shared with reporters on Thursday in Akure.
He explained that the officers have been sent across all 18 local government areas of Ondo State and will remain active around the clock.
According to him, patrols will take place day and night on major roads and within communities.
The corps is also working hand-in-hand with other security bodies to prevent trouble and respond quickly if any problems arise.
Areas that have been known for unrest are under watch, and teams are already on the ground in those places.
While wishing the Muslim community a peaceful Eid celebration, Adeleye called on them to continue showing love, care for others, and practice the spirit of giving that the season represents.
He also urged the people of Ondo State to remain alert and to report any strange movement or suspicious acts to the nearest security base or through Amotekun’s emergency numbers.
The corps promised to stay on duty throughout the holiday period to make sure everyone celebrates without fear.
