A U.S.-based Nigerian activist, Dr. Sandra Duru, has accused suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of offering her a N200 million bribe to fabricate damaging allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Speaking during a live broadcast on Facebook, Duru—also known as Prof. Mgbeke—revealed she has submitted phone records and messages exchanged with the senator to international authorities for forensic review. The materials, according to her, contradict Natasha’s claim that they had never spoken.
She said Natasha initially attempted to implicate Akpabio in a sexual harassment scandal but, when that failed to gain attention, turned to a more shocking narrative—claiming he was involved in organ trafficking linked to the 2021 death of a young woman named Umoren.
“She asked me to say Akpabio was responsible for Umoren’s death and that her organs were harvested. I refused. That’s when she offered money to push the story,” Duru alleged.
The activist urged Nigerian authorities, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and global security agencies to launch a thorough investigation into Natasha’s conduct and her alleged knowledge of the young woman’s death, which she had remained silent about for years.
Duru said Natasha had admitted during one of their conversations that she had no evidence of harassment against the Senate President. She further claimed that the senator was using false allegations to pursue a political agenda.
“There was no harassment, no organ harvesting—nothing but fabrications,” Duru said. “She described Nigerians as ‘gullible and hungry’ and spoke of plans to bring down the so-called ‘Yoruba government’ by targeting Akpabio.”
The activist also alleged that Natasha insulted public figures including former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, calling her derogatory names in private conversations.
According to Duru, Natasha disclosed that her reward for successfully removing Akpabio would be either the Kogi governorship or a top federal appointment such as Minister of Petroleum Resources.
“She confessed it was never really about Akpabio. It was part of a broader political strategy to stop the Yoruba presidency from lasting beyond one term,” Duru claimed.
She concluded by calling on the Nigerian Police to take up the case and urged citizens not to fall for political manipulation disguised as activism.
