Aiyedatiwa’s Leadership: A New Era for Ondo, Says Okunomo

Akure, Ondo State – In a strong endorsement of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration, Hon. Banji Okunomo, former Ilaje Local Government Chairman and spokesperson for the APC Campaign Council during the recent governorship election, has praised the governor’s significant contributions to the development of Ondo State.

In a press statement shared with news outlets on Monday, Okunomo elaborated on how Aiyedatiwa is transforming the state’s development narrative through effective governance and visionary leadership.

Since his assumption of office, Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated “uncommon maturity, stability, and focus in governance,” according to Okunomo. His leadership reflects a steadfast commitment to the collective interests of the populace, especially during challenging times that necessitated reassurance and continuity.

Aiyedatiwa’s urban renewal initiative stands out as one of the most notable achievements of his administration. “Today, Akure wears a refreshing new look,” Okunomo remarked, highlighting the modernization of roundabouts, the installation of functional traffic lights, and improved street lighting that enhances safety and promotes economic activities after hours.

The governor’s commitment to infrastructural development extends well beyond the capital. “Across the three senatorial districts, the Governor has sustained and accelerated road construction and rehabilitation projects,” Okunomo noted, emphasizing the positive effects on rural communities and commerce.

Additionally, Aiyedatiwa’s prudent fiscal policies and zero-tolerance approach to wastefulness have fostered a culture of transparency and accountability in public procurement. Okunomo pointed out that such responsible financial management enables the government “to embark on multiple impactful projects simultaneously without unnecessary financial strain.”

In education, civil service, and healthcare, the governor has reinstated stability and dignity, effectively ending the era of delayed salary payments. “Workers’ salaries are paid as and when due, without excuses or delays,” Okunomo affirmed, also praising the timely payment of pensions that has provided relief to retirees.

He added that Aiyedatiwa has made security a top priority, significantly enhancing the Amotekun Corps to improve grassroots security and intelligence gathering. This focus on safety is further bolstered by recent announcements of major initiatives, including the Ondo Deep Sea Port and a new Modular Refinery Project, both of which are expected to generate jobs and stimulate industrial growth in the coastal area.

Okunomo also commended the governor for his political acumen, highlighting the “unprecedented 18–0 victory” in the last election, which he attributes to Aiyedatiwa’s performance-driven leadership. This electoral success has nurtured unity and stability within the APC, with opposition figures now joining the party in recognition of Aiyedatiwa’s accomplishments.

As Aiyedatiwa embarks on a thank-you tour across the 18 Local Government Areas, Okunomo noted the warm reception from citizens who appreciate the tangible benefits delivered by the governor’s policies. “His achievements are not mere rhetoric but visible realities across Ondo State,” he stated.

Starnews NG reports that Okunomo urged the people of Ondo State to continue their support for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration as it strives to build a more prosperous and secure future for all.
