The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has again reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol.
Checks in Abuja on Monday morning showed that NNPCL retail outlets adjusted their pump price to N815 per litre, down from N835, representing a N20 reduction.
The new price was observed at NNPCL filling stations located in Wuse Zones 6 and 4, Keffi–Abuja Road, and along the Kubwa Expressway.
A filling station attendant at one of the outlets, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the revised price took effect on Sunday evening.
Despite the reduction, the N815 per litre price remains N79 higher than the N739 per litre currently sold at MRS filling stations backed by the Dangote Refinery across the country.
Recall that on December 19, 2025, NNPCL had slashed the pump price of petrol by N80 to N835 per litre, following intense competition in the downstream oil sector. The price war was triggered by the Dangote Refinery’s decision to reduce its gantry price to N699 per litre.
