APC aspirant for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Ifedore Constituency, Wale Adefila, has disclosed plans to embark on a medical outreach in December, focusing on providing eye-care support to 1,000 residents across Ifedore and parts of the state.
Adefila in an exclusive interview with The Hope, revealed that the outreach would cater for various categories of eye defects, explaining that complicated cases requiring an ophthalmologist, surgeries or operations would be referred to specialised centres.
He added that eye problems that could be corrected with medicated glasses would be treated free of charge, targeting at least 1,000 beneficiaries.
According to him, although the programme is anchored within the local government, its reach will extend to the state level.
He stated that part of the outreach was designed to promote governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s efforts, noting that beneficiaries referred directly from the governor would also receive attention.
He said the team was open to visiting the government office or Government House if necessary.
Adefila also praised the calibre of individuals recently appointed as special advisers by the governor.
He described them as competent, tested and qualified.
He commended the governor for thoroughly assessing members of the party before making the appointments, adding that those chosen were “wonderful leaders”.
Speaking on his political ambition, Adefila maintained that residents of Ifedore were responding positively to his vision.
He said that anyone familiar with the area could attest to the growing momentum around his aspiration, noting that his name had gained prominence across the constituency. Describing the ambition as timely and divinely inspired, he said the people were yearning for improved representation.
He added that his interactions with residents had exposed widespread complaints about longstanding poor representation.
He said the massive turnout witnessed during his declaration and related activities, which were covered by various media outlets, reflected the people’s desire for change.
Adefila pledged to address the challenges confronting the constituency and ensure projects are executed through the direct influence of their representative.
