Abia Police Disband Anti-Cultism Unit, Demote Officer Over Misconduct

The Abia State Police Commissioner, Danladi Isa, has disbanded the command’s anti-cultism unit and demoted Corporal Okonkwo Ebuka to the rank of constable for engaging in unprofessional conduct.

According to NAN, this was revealed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, Maureen Chinaka. The statement cited “unprofessional conduct and incivility towards members of the public” as reasons for the unit’s dissolution.

“Additionally, F/No: 527324 Corporal Okonkwo Ebuka, who was attached to the Area Command in Aba but on special duty in Isuochi, has been demoted from corporal to constable,” Chinaka stated.

She explained that the decision was based on an orderly room trial, where Ebuka was found guilty of discreditable behavior, professional misconduct, and incivility toward the public.
