The All Progressives Congress Party, (APC) members in Ikoro Ekiti have unanimously resolved to work towards ensuring victory for Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, BAO, in the forthcoming governorship election.

The moves to galvanize support for BAO climaxed with the ward meeting of the party in Ikoro Ekiti, where all stakeholders pledged to put their differences behind them to foster party cohesion.

It will be recalled that the primary election that produced BAO had factionalised the party in the town into multiple groups, each promoting divisional interests.

However, knowing that the party cannot afford to go into the forthcoming election in disarray, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor, Kayode Fayemi on Policy, Strategies and Speeches, Hon. Gboyega Ajayi, met with the stakeholders where all parties agreed to bury thier differences with a view to ensuring victory for the party in the governorship election.

Ajayi took it upon himself to visit and plead with all aggrieved groups and individuals with a view to ensuring their buy-in on the need to work together as a team. He met with the stakeholders from Kayode Ojo to BAFEM AND BAFEM to MOB’s groups.

He also visited Dr. Bayo Orire, Hon. Ropo Ige, Mrs Bola Ojo (LG women leader), Chief Dayo Ajayi, Hon. Biodun Benson and others. All parties agreed to bury thier grievances with a view to ensuring victory for the party in the governorship election.

The highpoint of his consultation was the declaration by the hitherto aggrieved stakeholders that APC/ BAO’s victory on June 18 is a task that must be achieved.

They unanimously declared that all hands must on the deck to ensure continuity of the good work of JKF through the victory of BAO.
