ICT: Rufus Giwa Poly Student to represent Nigeria in Huawei Competition

Rufus Giwa Polytechnic,Owo, Ondo state, in sustaining her status as the best state owned Polytechnic in Nigeria has again demonstrated excellence at the just concluded National finals of the Huawei ICT competition in Nigeria.

Huawei is an incorporated authorised body on ICT network and in seeing the values on networking, which the chairman of council,Banji Alabi introduced Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, owo into the scheme.

This vision was embraced and nurtured by Dr(Mrs) Olayinka Jinadu ,a lecturer in the institution who took up the training with deserved dynamism.

A statement by S.O Ojo (JP)
Director of Public Relations & Protocol says “Today,Rufus Giwa polytechnic,owo in the comity of tertiary institutions in the country presented winning students in the Huawei ICT competition. “The winners are , Mr.Olalekan Akinlolu, Fikesola Joy Olusayero and Emmanuel Olatunji – all are HND 2 Computer science students of the institution.

“This great ambassador, Olalekan Akinlolu will be undergoing a sponsored six months training by Huawei in South Africa in 2022.

“Besides this feat, the Rector of the institution, Mr. Gani Adebola Ogundahunsi, as well as Dr(Mrs)Olayinka Jinadu and Mr.Olalekan Akinlolu had been invited to grace this historic award in Abuja.

“Our noble institution is also making positive impacts in the world of ICT training as many of the staff of the institution had benefited from the scheme introduced to the institution few years back.

“I wish to commend the visionary effort of the chairman of Council for opening the institution to this opportunity and to congratulate Rugipo for producing an ambassador to represent Nigeria positively on ICT talent development.”
