The police command in Lagos state has disclosed that a 54-year-old man, simply called Benjamin, has comitted suicide in the Agege area of the state.
The Lagos state police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to journalists on Monday in Lagos.
Hundeyin noted that the incident happened on Sunday at about 8:00 p.m.
The image maker said the elder brother of the deceased reported the incident at the Elere Police Station that his brother allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to death in the store of their house.
“Officers of the division immediately visited the scene, and the deceased was lowered and taken to the Orile-Agege General Hospital, where he was certified dead.
“No mark of violence was found on the body of the deceased,” Hundeyin said.
The command’s spokesperson, however, that the body has been transferred from Orile-Agee Hospital to Mainland Hospital in Yaba for an autopsy.
The police image maker added that detectives are currently investigating the incident.
Recall that a 38-year-old man in the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, had committed suicide over wife’s infidelity.
The deceased identified as Gabriel Magaji, of the Masaka area in the LG, was said to have killed himself on Monday, over the situation.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Nansel Ramhan, confirmed the incident to our correspondent in Lafia on Wednesday.
