46,157 Security Personnel to be deployed for Ondo Guber Poll

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun says a total of 46,157 Security personnel would be deployed for the November 16 Ondo Guber Poll.

This was disclosed at the Signing of the Ondo Peace Accord held in Akure, the state capital on Friday.

Represented by Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of South West, DIG Silvester Alabi, the IGP stated that a total of 36,657 policemen would be deployed for the election, to be supported by 18,500 sister security agencies.

The IGP restated that the police force will provide enough armored vehicles, carriers, drones and others to compliment the strength of the Ondo state police command.

He urged political parties and contestants to conduct themselves in an orderly manner before, during and after the election, adding that violence if any sorts would not be tolerated.
