22 APC Govs declare Tinubu sole Presidential candidate for 2027

The 22 governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) have jointly declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be the party’s sole presidential flag bearer in the 2027 general elections.

This endorsement was formally announced on Thursday at the APC National Summit held inside the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja.

The event, which focused on evaluating the Renewed Hope Agenda, brought together key stakeholders from across the party.

Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, led the charge by proposing President Tinubu as the exclusive APC candidate for the next presidential election.

The motion was backed by the Forum’s Vice Chairman and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani.

The proposal received unanimous approval through a voice vote, followed by a standing ovation from attendees, which included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, members of the National Assembly, former governors, and party members from all 36 states and the FCT.
