Commonwealth Games 2022: India beats Nigeria in men’s table tennis team semis

  Nigeria lost 3-1 to India in the second semi-final of the men’s table tennis team event at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham,       The duo of Abiodun Bode and Omotayo Olajide lost 3-0 in the doubles against Desai Harmeet and Gnanasekaran Sathiyan of India.       The Indian pair took the three sets 11-6, 11-7, 11-7.       The second single game between Omotayo and Gnanasekaran also ended 3-1 in favour of the Indian player.       He took the first set 11-9 while the Nigerian took the second set 11-4.  

Commonwealth Games: Yusuf wins 4th medal for Nigeria

    Islamiyat Yusuf has won Nigeria’s  fourth medal at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Monday.   Yusuf clinched Bronze medal in women’s weightlifting 64kg event, with 93kg in snatch and 119 in clean and jerk.   Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Edwin Peter competed in the Men’s -66kg elimination Round of 16 Judo event.   Peter did not advance to the quarterfinals, losing by 10-0 to Northern Ireland’s Nathon Burns.   Nigeria will take part in the semi finals of the Men’s table tennis team event against India.
