Gunmen kidnap cleric, son in Ondo, demand N10m ransom

A Christian cleric, identified as Venerable Olu Obanla, has reportedly been kidnapped along Ifon-Okeluse Road in the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State on Saturday.   It was gathered that the victims were travelling along the road when the hoodlums accosted and dragged them into the bush to an unknown destination. A source said shortly after the abduction, the bandits contacted the family and demanded a sum of N10 million for the release of the victims but the family were unable to get the money as they could only gather N1million which was refused by the abductors. Ibori’s daughter, Igbakpa deadlocked in PDP Reps seat contest

No official winner was declared in the Peoples Democratic Party primary election held in Ethiope Federal Constituency on Sunday as the two contestants, Ben Rollands Igbakpa and Chief James Ibori’s daughter, Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, tied at the end of the contest held in Oghara, Delta State.   The results of the party primary ended in a stalemate as the two contestants scored 34 votes each. Ekiti police arrest 18 suspected killer-cultists, 17 others

The police in Ekiti State have arrested 18 members of Aiye Secret Confraternity for alleged involvement in the killing at Oye-Ekiti in March of one Ajayi Sunday and Owolabi Moses. Anambra Assembly expresses shock over lawmaker’s murder

Ogun teacher nabbed over alleged pupil defilement after school lesson

A 25-year-old teacher, one Ayobami Runsewe, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old pupil in the Ago-Iwoye area of the state.
