2022 #WorldCup: What you should know ahead France, Argentina final showdown

The World Cup 2022 draws to a close on Sunday, with France taking on Argentina in the final in Qatar, and the closing ceremony being staged before kick off at the Lusali Stadium.

The curtains come down on the 2022 global soccer tournament with Lionel Messi and Argentina hoping to beat defending champions France.

With the eyes of the world focused on Qatar for the last time in the competition, the organisers will be keen to leave a lasting postive image for fans to remember as the event by.

There will be many big stars performing, with Nigerian-American musician Davido and Indian actress/musician Nora Fatehi.

The tournament began with controversy as the BBC chose to air a segment criticising the treatment of migrant workers and FIFA corruption, ignoring the opening ceremony.

Global stars such as Morgan Freeman and K-Pop artist Jungkook both participated in a star-studded start to the competition and it remains to be seen how the broadcasters will handle the tournament finale.

The ceremony takes place at the Lusail Stadium, beginning two hours before the final kick off. It will begin at 4pm local time, which is 1pm in the UK and 8am on the US East Coast.
