The Ondo State House of Assembly has ratified the appointment of fourteen new commissioners. letter of request for the confirmation of appointment of the fourteen Commissioners, signed by Secretary to the State Government, Princess Catherine Oladunni Odu had earlier been forwarded to the House. The nominees later appeared before the Selection Committee of the House for screening. Life Imprisonment: Appeal court Frees Prophet Sotitobire

  The Appeal Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital has upturned the life imprisonment conviction of prophet Babatunde Alfa over disappearance of Gold Kolawole in his Church, Sotitobire Praisimg Chapel in November 2019. An Ondo state high court had sentenced prophet alfa Babatunde to life imprisonment over disappearance of a one year old boy, Gold Kolawole in his Church in November 2019. Sotitibire founder had asked the appeal court to nullify his life sentence conviction by the court. The court ruled that the circumstantial evidence the high court based its judgement on is not enough to convict him.

Persons with disabilities seek enactment of disability law in Edo

  Persons with disabilities under the umbrella of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, on Thursday, urged the Edo State government to domesticate the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018.
