A former media aide to the Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi, Godffery Chikwere was over the weekend arrested by the police over alleged fake news. DAILY POST, however, learnt that he slumped while in custody and was rushed to Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (AE-FUTHA). It was gathered that Chikwere fell sick after being detained at the police headquarters, Abakaliki since last Friday. Nine killed, 15 injured in Oyo accident, child rescued unhurt
Nine persons have been killed in an road accident on the Moniya-Ibadan Road, Oyo State. No fewer than 15 persons were also injured in the accident, while a male child was reportedly rescued from the wreckage without any injury. Newcastle’s new owners may sack Steve Bruce as manager this week. SportsMail reports that they felt Bruce’s presence in the dugout might have a negative impact when they take on Tottenham Hotspur.
