Gunmen Attack Police Station In Abia, Raze Police Zonal Headquarters In Anambra
Gunmen have attacked a police station in Uzoakoli, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday. The spokesman of the Abi State Police Command, Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed the attack to Channels Television via the telephone. He said an investigation has commenced to unravel the perpetrators of the attack, adding that no group has claimed responsibility yet. FG begins partial payment of stipends to beneficiaries of 774,000 jobs
The Federal Government, Sunday, said it has begun partial payment of the N20,000 monthly stipend to beneficiaries of the 774,000 Special Public Works programme. Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN), made the disclosure in a statement to clarify the Federal Government’s position in relation to delay in payment of stipends to the workers. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has taken moves to strengthen risk management in the financial services subsector categorized as Other Financial Institutions (OFIs), mainly mortgage banks, Finance Houses and micro-finance banks. 18-Seater Bus Plunges Into Ondo River
An 18-seated bus has plunged into the Owena River along Akure-Ondo road in Ondo State. According to an eyewitness account, the bus was commuting from Ondo to Akure but lost control as a result of over speeding and fell off the bridge into the Owena river.
