18-Year-Old Apprentice Allegedly Impregnates 10 Girls in Just Five Months

An 18-year-old apprentice from Anambra State is under scrutiny after allegedly impregnating 10 girls in just five months. This alarming situation has raised concerns, prompting involvement from the state’s Ministry of Women and Social Welfare.

Ify Obinabo, the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, shared the disturbing news during a live social media broadcast. She explained that the young man was initially sent to learn a trade but, within just three months of starting his apprenticeship, he had impregnated both his master’s daughter and a salesgirl. This led to his dismissal from the apprenticeship.

The situation reportedly worsened when the young man returned to his village, where he is said to have impregnated eight more girls in the two months following his departure from the apprenticeship.

Obinabo expressed her deep concern about the case, saying, “This situation is beyond my capacity. I need advice from the public.” She further shared that the boy’s mother had come to her office, expressing her worry and anxiety whenever a girl approached their home.

When questioned about how he managed to convince so many girls, the young man reportedly explained that he would tell them he loved them and promised to marry them once he became financially successful.

Describing the situation as alarming due to the boy’s age and the number of young girls involved, Obinabo acknowledged the complexity of the case. Although she did not disclose the identities of the boy, his mother, or their village, she called for public input, wondering whether there could be spiritual factors at play.
