A tragic incident occurred in the Hotoro Walawai area, behind MGR Filling Station in Kano’s Tarauni Local Government Area, where the lifeless body of a 17-year-old boy, Shahid Ahmad, was discovered in a pond.
The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the incident on Tuesday through its Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi.
Although the cause of death has not yet been determined, officials recovered the boy’s body from the water on Tuesday afternoon. However, his father proceeded with the burial before any investigation could be carried out.
According to the statement, the emergency call came in at 3:31 p.m. from a man identified as Anas Haruna, who reported seeing a body floating in the pond. Rescue officials arrived at the scene at 3:45 p.m. and retrieved the body.
The remains were later handed over to the victim’s father, Malam Ahmad.
