By Our Correspondent

In Edo State, 109 officers of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) have been promoted to higher ranks.

The decoration ceremony took place on December 12 in Benin City, led by the State Controller of Corrections, Philomena Emehinola, who herself was recently promoted to Assistant Controller General.

Emehinola called on the officers to approach their new roles with increased commitment, urging them to uphold discipline and contribute actively to the progress of the service.

She pointed out that promotions within the service have been consistent under the current administration, with over 12,000 personnel advancing this year alone.

The newly promoted ranks include eight Deputy Controllers, eight Assistant Controllers, 12 Chief Superintendents, 10 Superintendents, 32 Deputy Superintendents, 22 Assistant Superintendents I, and 13 Assistant Superintendents III.

Emehinola reassured officers awaiting promotion that their time would come and encouraged them to prepare for future opportunities.

Representing the promoted officers, Deputy Controller Smart Omonua pledged their dedication to the service in gratitude for the recognition.
