Yahaya Bello to Appear in Abuja Court Today

The former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, is expected to be arraigned today, Wednesday, November 27, at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.

Bello voluntarily reported to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, accompanied by his legal team. Following his submission, the EFCC held him for further clarification and preparations for his upcoming arraignment.

The arraignment will take place before Justice Maryan Anenih at the FCT High Court in Maitama. The judge had previously set November 27 for the arraignment based on the EFCC’s request and had issued a public summons on October 3, regarding a fresh case filed against Bello.

Dele Oyewale, EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, confirmed that Bello would appear in court, though he refrained from specifying a time.

At the last hearing, EFCC counsel Jamiu Agoro informed the court that the order issued on October 3 was still valid. After reviewing the matter, Justice Anenih granted the EFCC’s request for an adjournment and confirmed November 27 as the date for the next hearing.
